360-degree spin photography allows items to be viewed from every angle in a chosen plane. Using simple, free software such as Adobe Flash or Apple Quicktime viewers use their mouse to change the viewing angle and zoom in for a closer inspection. The technology has major application in web-based marketing but also in training and education.

360-degree spin photography from Clann Associates is available for a wide range of product sizes and in a number of resolutions. Whether your requirements are for a simple, 12-shot, low resolution 360 degree web illustration or a High Definition, 72-shot image with animations and captions, we have a package to suit, and at very competitive prices.

Our 36 and 72 shot range is particularly designed for High Definition presentation tasks such as a Product Tour at an exhibition or as a sales presentation. Our Virtual Showroom product is such a Product Tour and displays images on full HD flat-screens at exhibitions, for instance. In such applications image quality is paramount and larger file sizes are not a problem, so no compromises are made.

On the other hand web-based images need to be downloaded as quickly as possible. Web surfers browsing for product information look for a snappy response above all and will tolerate a little loss of image quality for a faster response. Clann Associates provide the full range of plans to suit all needs.

The Process:

Shipping - To reduce the costs of your 360 degree spin project, we recommend that you have your shipping department organise the shipment of product to our studio. There is a large number of capable shippers and we would recommend a service such as that provided by City Link - www.city-link.co.uk - who will collect packages up to 30kg in weight from anywhere in the UK and deliver to us within 48 hours for around £8 + VAT. (Plus insurance if required.)
Tracking - Once received at Clann we assign each product a unique ID code to ensure a safe and secure time on our premises.
Preparation - Hopefully you will have shipped us product which is new and camera ready but we allow a little time for a final spruce up. Sometimes the journey takes its toll and items need some pressing, fluffing, staging or rigging to get the best shots.
Photography - The most important aspect of the whole project - the part we are particularly good at! Products are placed on a suitable turntable with appropriate backgrounds and back-drops and the best lighting in place. All images are captured at full resolution on high spec digital equipment - whether you order 12, 24, 36 or 72 image plans - and are available for print use.
Post Process 1 - Before the product leaves the turntable the output from the photography stage is reviewed on HD monitors to ensure consistency across all images. In the event that anything went wrong - such as a lighting module not delivering full power - a retake can be made before the product is moved.
Post Process 2 - Various refinements are made to the images as necessary - colour balance, background clean up, image touch-up and cropping etc.
360-degree Spin File Creation - Each series of photographs - whether 12, 24, 36 or 72 in number - is assembled in sequence in Adobe Flash software in order to generate the final deliverable files. A similar process takes place to create the QuickTime files needed to view the images on Apple computers.
Repacking and Re-shipping - As soon as the process is complete and no further photography is required the products are re-packed in their original shipping material - no we are not so mean, but we do care about the environment! - and an arrangement is made with City-Link for the return journey.
Flash, QuickTime and press-quality image files are written to a CD-ROM or DVD and shipped to the customer, who is usually overwhelmed with the quality of the images, the speed of the service and our outstanding value for money!
